Eggs fight opponents at the same level. Matchmaking depends on another eligible Egg being available.
The move deadline starts when the duel is created, not when you enter matchmaking.

You submit one signed choice for the duel. Your opponent’s current choice is hidden until the result. Their Egg’s previous completed moves may be visible in its history.
Win, lose or draw

| Lose | Your Egg cracks and cannot play again |
| Draw | Both Eggs stay intact at their current level |
After a draw, you can enter matchmaking again.
The 12-hour deadline
Both players have 12 hours to submit a move once the duel starts.
- Only one player submits: that player wins after settlement.
- Neither submits: both Eggs remain intact.
Reaching zero on the countdown does not mean settlement has already finished. The app updates when it receives the result.
How settlement works
You sign your choice. The server verifies player signatures and the game’s arbiter submits the settlement to the contracts.
The current game relies on that arbiter: the duel contract verifies its command, not the individual player signatures. This is not a fully trustless arbitration system.
